TESTOSTERONE
(The delayed avant-garde of abstract expression-1)
Tips on This abstract painting
As it is known, the charm and effect of abstract works are simply related to establishing a context by discovering patterns in ambiguous images by means of free association of the subconscious. It is known that vertical elements in the visual represent vitality, creativity, infinite power, domination, and also a threat in the human subconscious. Horizontal elements represent earth and ground. They are comforting and reassuring lines.
In this picture, the shapes given in horizontal form that appear as the sky in the background are not actually the sky. Yellow colors represent the relaxing and reassuring future concept by using contrasting and complementary colors.
In the background, there are vertical blocks of red, green and blue colors that resemble buildings or skyscrapers, that are living system symbols such as trees, forests etc. which actually develop in a mathematical order. Geometric golden ratio analysis was made in the verticals on the left. However, on the right, this was deliberately not taken into consideration.
The ground below is painted in pastel colors. The pastel color is to provide a safe base of stability and harmony for the gray lines that represent the pattern of events. Let’s come to the giant rectangular boxes on the pattern plane. The human mind is prone to evaluate external information data by grouping and schematizing them in the form of a certain pattern. It creates a perception record, an image, by attaching emotional meanings to this information.
Giant rectangular boxes represent this structure that exist in the mind. Since the content information is constantly evolving, the boxes are rectangular, not square.
From the top left, a beam of light is projected only on the man. Just like gravity bends light, man has attracted a light beam of unknown origin on himself. This light is a call to attention to nature’s creation of man with insistence and countless miraculous coincidences. The coffins in the bottom middle: man, knowing that he is a mortal being, has always kept this definite end and fate in his behind. However, he has created aesthetics by coloring this fate and his finite life
.Now you may think that, the artist does not explain the content of his work or if the content is explained in general, the work ceases to be abstract. The style I call “Post Abstract Expressionist” is exactly about this case. If you pay attention to the picture, while all the visuals in the work consist of abstract representations, the human and horse figures are given with a natural, realistic image. The real abstraction in the content of the work is just there.
Let me give you a clue: in fact, there is neither a human nor a horse in this image; neither is represented.
